Exit Twenty-ThreeExit twenty-three flew past the window and disappeared—rejoining the world in that little square of highway that was the old Honda's rearview mirror. On the count of ten it would be invisible. Eight, nine—and gone. Four states had ticked away in that same fashion—count of ten and gone. The next exit would come on the count of forty-five.  
 
One, two, three...   
It was getting cold. She tapped her hand against the heat vent in the hopes it would revive. The lights on the dashboard formed a one and a five and a one—the tiny, red "AM" glowing next to them and telling her to pull off the road and buy some Exit Twenty-Three

darkIf you are reading this, you are already quite familiar with pain. You’ve been pricked and cut and dunked and twisted and pulled apart.  What you don’t know is, there is torture without pain.  
So before we get started, I’d like to give you a little overview of what’s in store for you. A tour, if you will.   
 
The beginning is long blurred hallways, strong hands gripping your shoulders, the buzz of fluorescent lights. You’re led downstairs, down, down, ‘til you lose track. Then you're pushed backwards, through a hole in the floor - gone. The opposite of being born.

I Finally...

...got contacts. So I can see now. It's odd. Getting them on and off scares the hell out of me. I felt really bad for the doctor showing me how to put them on--it took me something like twenty minutes to get anywhere near my eye.

In other news--I sent in my U Chicago application the other day. That was fun. I still don't think I'll get in, but their admissions blog is hilarious. (Hover Cat is my new hero...)

Yeah...that's about all...

Still up for ideas on the sci-fi thing.
